![]() ![]() Grapefruit essential oil, due to its high content in terpenes, has various different properties, among which we can find: Thanks to its composition, grapefruit can provide many benefits when consumed. Its strong aroma is due to its intense terpene profile, in which Limonene stands out. Grapefruit is an incredibly nutritional fruit with many benefits. Acids: this fruit contains different types of acids, such as citric, tartaric, malic, and oxalic. Its skin also contains fibre, although less so than most other fruit. Fibre, minerals and more: grapefruit is rich in potassium and magnesium.Carbohydrates: this food is low in calories, but those which it does have come from carbs.Vitamin C: grapefruit is incredibly rich in Vitamin C, which improves iron absorption and improves the creation of red blood cells and collagen in the body. Some of their main nutritional elements are: Just like with many citric fruit, grapefruit is many made up of water, making it a great diuretic. Grapefruits are highly nutritional, although they also possess a series of other incredibly interesting benefits. Whether or not you like its flavor, it’s irrefutable that this fruit provides multiple nutritional and anti-oxidant benefits thanks to its vitamins, minerals, essential oils and other elements. Its intense, sour flavor doesn’t leave much room for mixed feelings you either love it or you hate it. ![]() This fruit is yellow and pale on the outside, but a deep red color on the inside, and it’s grown in many countries (including Spain), with some of their main producers being China, the US, Vietnam and Mexico. This is a possibly spontaneous hybrid between pomelos (a southeastern Asian citrus fruit, Citrus Maxima) and sweet orange (Citrus x Sinensis). Grapefruit trees, which come from the species Citrus x Paradisi, are thought to come originally from the Caribbean and, although we’re not entirely sure where they’re from, various sources point towards it originating from somewhere on the island of Jamaica. Gapefruit and Cannabis – How are They Similar? Today we’re talking about grapefruit, its benefits, composition and things it has in common with certain strains of cannabis. Whether it’s because of their aromatic composition, benefits or effects, there are many, many different possibilities behind these similarities. This study underlines the importance of determining the genotype composition of a potential CTV pre-immunizing source on a range of inoculated host species before utilization. In previous posts we’ve already talked about the interesting similarities between cannabis and many plants, flowers and fruits. Single-aphid-transmitted sub-isolates derived from the GFMS12 mother population on Mexican lime appeared to contain three populations of a mixture of VT-like and recombinant B165/VT-like genotypes a mixture of recombinant RB/VT- and B165/VT-like genotypes and a single recombinant B165/VT-like genotype. Analysis of the GFMS12 population in Mexican lime and Marsh and Star Ruby grapefruit varieties revealed that at least four genotypes occur in the GFMS12 population and that genotype compositions differed amongst the populations in different host plants. The CTV genotype composition of the GFMS12 population inoculated onto different hosts was determined by sequencing part of ORF1a and the p23 gene of multiple clones from each plant. Unfortunately, cross-protection breakdown of the pre-immunizing CTV grapefruit mild source GFMS12 is prevalent in grapefruit in South Africa. Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) causes severe losses in grapefruit production in South Africa and requires mild-strain cross-protection to maintain production.
